MILWAUKIE, OR -- La Salle catcher Chet Line hit a 2-run homerun with an 0-2 count with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, propelling La Salle to a 4-2 win over the Huskies.

The game's scoring started right off the bat, in the top of the first inning with a solo home run by North Marion senior Chandler Willcuts.

La Salle picked up a run in the bottom of second, to tie up the score at one. La Salle later picked up another run in the fourth with a solo shot.

The Huskies had a great look at things in their half of the fourth inning, with runners on second and third with just one out, but the Huskies couldn't capitalize. The last two batters in the inning struck out.

North Marion did pick up a run in the top of the sixth inning with a single by Willcuts, who also advanced to second and third via a throwing error and stolen base. He scored on a sacrafice fly by junior Brandan Hopper. The Huskies tied the game at 2.

But then the bottom of the sixth inning came. The Huskies sat two of the first three Falcons down with a fly out and a ground out. Senior pitcher Kip Pearson looked as if he would finish out the inning, as he was ahead of the batter 0-2 in the count, and with 2 outs. However, the ensuing pitched was drilled to left field, just clearing the outfield fence, giving La Salle a 4-2 lead, which would be the final margin.

The Huskies first two batters flew out in the seventh. The Huskies began a 2-out rally, but could not finish it out.

North Marion will not have to wait long to get back on the winning track, as they will host the Molalla Indians Tuesday night, 5pm, at Bob Brack Stadium.
