A scoreless game through three innings quickly got out of hand as visiting La Salle spoiled the Huskies home opener with a 7-0 win on Wednesday afternoon.
The Falcons pounded out 12 hits on the day, scoring seven runs. 10 of the 12 hits and all seven runs came in the final four innings.
Freshman Trevor Ensign fared well on the mound in his first career outing, navigating the Huskies through the first three frames with just two hits allowed and no runs. La Salle jumped on North Marion's bullpen, however, pulling away in a hurry.
The Huskies offensive struggles from opening day were present once again, being limited to four hits on the day. First baseman Hunter Beachy led the box score with two base hits down the left field line, legging one out for a double. Dylan Doubrava and Andy Schmitz both notched base hits as well.
Baseball returns to Bob Brack Stadium on Friday night. The Huskies will host Hudson's Bay (Washington) in a 7:00pm game to be played under the lights. North Marion will look to get in the win column and avoid an 0-3 start.
